Coach-sulting

I'm a rubbish coach.

On purpose.

A proper coach holds space and asks the question that gets you there yourself. I've got enormous respect for that, and I'm hopeless at it. I've already walked the road, the long way round, and I'd rather just tell you where the potholes are.

I'll still ask you questions though. It has to end up being your idea, or you won't run with it.

Steve at a desk with a laptop, sleeves up.

Before you spend anything

Almost everything I know is already free.

This season is about passing it on, and most of that costs you nothing. It's on the channel and in the Lab. No gate, no email wall, no "enter your details to unlock". Genuinely go and take it. I'd rather you solved it for free than paid me for something you could have got on a Tuesday night.

This page is only for when you want the specific version. About your thing. With someone actually in it with you.

What actually happens

Part coach, part consultant. Hence the daft name.

For those fifty minutes I'm all yours. Not half-listening, not selling you a programme at the end. Here's the shape of it.

First

I'll actually listen

Properly, and for longer than you'd expect. Eighteen years of running rooms is mostly eighteen years of shutting up and hearing what someone's really saying underneath the thing they said.

Then

I'll give you answers

Not questions designed to make you find the answer. If I know it, you get it. If I've made the mistake you're about to make, I'll say so and save you the year.

And then

I'll get in the weeds

Sleeves up, into the actual thing. The pricing page, the pitch, the email, the org chart, whatever it is. Advice is cheap. Doing a bit of it together is the useful part.

And when it isn't me

If it's not my lane, I'll know someone whose lane it is.

Eighteen years in rooms, five books, an agency and a stage career means I've collected an absurd number of people who are genuinely superstars at one specific thing. Tax. Brand. Ops. Legal. The weird bit of Meta ads nobody understands.

So the worst outcome of talking to me is a warm introduction to the right person. I'd rather send you to someone who rocks at your thing than take your money and be adequate at it.

The bit people don't expect

You're not just getting me.

I run a learning design studio with a team of people who are better than me at things I'm only dangerous at. If your problem needs a second brain, a designer's eye, someone who's built the exact system you're describing, I'll bring it to the jam.

You're renting a studio's worth of pattern-matching for the price of a conversation, not one bloke's opinion.

Pick your stuck

What people usually bring.

Marketing & growth

Getting seen, getting sold, and go-to-market that actually goes.

Customer & service

Turning one-off buyers into people who keep coming back.

People & training

Onboarding, workshops, and holding a room instead of losing it.

Learning & agency

Building a learning or design agency from the inside out.

Going out on your own

Backing yourself to leave, without building a new cage.

The business that owns you

Hours you can't get back and a door you can't close. I know this one intimately.

Not sure it fits? Ask anyway. Worst case I point you somewhere better and it costs you an email.

How it works

Book it, brief it, jam on it.

01

Book and pay

Pick a time that suits. No discovery call to get past first, no application form, no qualifying you like a lead.

02

Send me the thing

A few lines beforehand about what's stuck. I'll have thought about it before we start, which is where a chunk of the value is.

03

Fifty minutes

One-off is completely fine and most people do exactly that. If you want me in your corner ongoing, we'll sort it after.

[ Embed slot — HighLevel ]Paid 50-minute session. Booking and payment calendar goes here.

What it costs

Five hundred bucks. Five things.

$500

One payment. Everything below.

The session is the start of it, not the whole of it. Most people expect a call and a handshake. You get a month.

01

The session

Fifty minutes, one to one, on the thing that's actually stuck.

02

A written report

What we found, what I think, and why, so it isn't gone the second the call ends.

03

An action list

The actual next steps, in order, with the one to start on Monday marked.

04

My resources

Whatever tools, templates, steps or shortcuts I've already built for your problem. No point rebuilding them.

05

A month of check-ins

Weekly, walkie-talkie style. Send me questions or screenshots as you go and I'll review them and come back with my input. This is the bit that makes it actually work. Advice dies without follow-up.

No six-week programme, no upsell at minute forty-eight. Some of this does go deeper. Proper company work on go-to-market, connection and outreach, and the odd sweat-equity deal when I genuinely believe in what you're building. Different conversation, starts the same way.

When fifty minutes isn't the shape of it

Mentoring, board seats and advisory.

Some things don't get solved in one session. Steve takes on a small number of longer arrangements, and he'd rather have three he can actually think about than twelve he can't. These aren't productised and there's no package. Tell him what you're building and he'll tell you straight whether he's the right person.

Mentoring

Ongoing, one to one, for someone building something and wanting a person in their corner who's already paid for the lessons. Regular enough to be useful, not so regular it becomes homework.

Board & advisory

A seat at the table for organisations that want someone who's built, run, sold and closed things. Learning, customer experience, marketing, AI and the human side of all three.

Projects

Bigger pieces of work with a start and an end. Sometimes through Learn Awesome with the whole team, sometimes just Steve. Occasionally on sweat equity if the thing is genuinely interesting.

Got something you're stuck on?

Book the fifty minutes, or go and take the free stuff first. Both are genuinely fine by me.
